I am a vegan with 2 teen daughters, a hubby, 3 dogs , 3 cats, 2 ghinea pigs and one horse. I love to cook and collect cookbooks. I believe in rescuing animals and huamns can be very cruel and unkind. I belive in positive operant training. I enjoy clicker training with my dogs and horse, but need to work more with the cats and ghinea pigs. I use to be a traditional “trainer” with my dogs and my previous horse. I never felt very comfortable with the methods employed and then discovered clicker training and natural horsemanship. This has changed everything for me. I have a better relationship with my animal friends, family and people in general. I now have a way to communicate with my quadruped friends and expand our partnership. Sounds corny, but it’s true. I am starting my horse myself and he is an amazing guy. He is very smart, and inquisitive. Catches on very quickly and is easily board. In natural horseman terms, he is a “left brain extrovert”. This ties in with the idea of fore-brain/hind-brain concepts used with dogs. It gives you a better understanding on what motivates them and what shuts them down. Thus encouraging the positive and extinguishing the negative. Well, that is part of what makes me tick.
